The Call to Spiritual Battle / Rallying Cry

9. The Call to Spiritual Battle /  Rallying Cry

Let There Be Light

What does it mean to go into Spiritual battle?

It means to deliberately go against the lies and darkness in this world and point people as well as yourself to Jesus and living in line with God’s will

Why is it important to go into Spiritual battle?

  1. Being lost in sin means that our family, friends and/or loved ones will die in their sin and burn for all eternity in hell [Revelation 20:11–15]

  2. The devil is deliberately going after people to bring them to destruction, if we are not deliberately fighting against his attacks we will lose souls without even realizing what happened. [1 Peter 5:8]

  3. If we’re not moving forward, we’re automatically moving backward [Proverbs 6:6-11, John 9:4]

  4. Prayer is powerful and important but we cannot only pray for the change because God has called us to a greater purpose [Matthew 28:19-20]

How do we go into spiritual battle?

  1. Recognize there is a need to fight[Ephesians 6:10-17]

  2. Put on the full armor of God

  3. Attract people to you (Come and See)

  4. Sow the seed of the gospel in their heart (Sow)

  5. Share more information about God so that it grows (Grow)

  6. Teach them how to put on the full armor of God (Forge)

  7. Rally them for the need and teach them how to go into battle (Rally/Go)

Tips

  1. We can do our spiritual walk alone or we can live while occasionally getting help from someone else, however, I believe MORE people will succeed in their christian walk, if we spent more time walking together and supporting each other [Ecclesiastes 4:12, Matthew 18:19-20, Proverbs 27:17]

  2. Do not think that your spiritual walk is an accident. It is a product of a very committed, prayer warrior, whether it was your grandmother, your mother or maybe your father, who beat against heaven’s door for your salvation. [1 Timothy 2:1,Luke 22:31-32, Genesis 18:16-33,Luke 10:2]

  3. If we’re not moving forward there is a force out there that will push us back [1 Peter 5:8]

Disclaimer

Mentor evaluations and the armor are a guideline for the strategic growth of your mentee however it’s by no means exhaustive and spiritual discernment is necessary to help evaluate how your mentee is growing and if there are other areas in which you need to keep your mentee in prayer for or need to help them learn and apply the scripture to.

Mentors must continuously be forging their armor as they minister to their mentee(s).

NB: Scripture references are by no means exhaustive but can be used as a basis to start memorizing scripture
