8. The Boots of Peace

What are the boots of peace?

The boots of peace remind us to live with peace in our hearts and minds as you go through life. It’s not about having no problems but instead trusting in God’s plan for your life so much that in the midst of the problem you are assured it will work out for the best. 


Why is it important to have peace?

  1. It goes against confusion and turmoil

  2. It goes against depression [Romans 15:13]

  3. It goes against fear [2 Timothy 1:7]

  4. It goes against stress [Philippians 4:7]


How do you put on the boots peace?


  1. Have truth instead of lies as your foundation. [John 8:31-32]

  2. Faith in God's promises that he is the one who brought you there and he will take care of you [Philippians 4:7]

  3. Knowing and believing that God will give you the wisdom and the strength to deal with whatever comes [Proverbs 2:6-8,James 1:5,Isaiah 40:29-31]

  4. Knowing and believing that you have a spirit in you that gives you the power to trample down strongholds and overcome great problems [2 Corinthians 10:3-5,Luke 24:49, 2 Timothy 1:7]

  5. Knowing and believing that when you die you have a wonderful place prepared for you in Heaven [John 14:1-3,1 Thessalonians 4:16-17]


 How do you grow this belief 

  1. Listening to people’s testimonies [Revelation 12:11]

  2. Listening to songs [Ephesians 5:18-20]

  3. Worshiping in song and words of praise to God[Psalm 95:6-7]

  4. Reading the word of God [Psalm 23:4,John 14:27]

  5. Forging your “Shield of Faith”


Tips

  1. Take time out to refocus on God especially when things get hectic

  2. Listen to christian music - Recognize people are using their gifts/skills to help you to grow and apply God’s word so accept it.

    1. Check out playlists of some powerful christian music for different seasons in your life

  3. Listen to Testimonies on God’s faithfulness

    1. Check out some testimonies of God coming through

  1. How many times this week have they stressed out about something (Less than 2 times)

  2. Have they been depressed this week?

  3. Have they been listening to christian music or testimonies this week?

  4. Have they spent time in prayer and worship this week?

  5. Can they recite scriptures about God’s presence, omnipotence and omniscience?
